The coming housing reckoning

The signs of an impending housing crisis, if it is not already upon us, are becoming more apparent. Eviction cases for being unable to pay rent are proceeding in many states. Some landlords are suing tenants for back rent. Others are forcing them from their homes through not renewing leases, coming up with excuses to try to evict them.
Home prices are going through the roof. While that may be good for sellers, realtors, and lenders, it’s not for homeowners who remain in their homes and face higher property assessments and taxes. Rents are rising again after a lull in many cities.
