The 'nice' Trump supporter

I’ve had a lot of debates with conservatives in my day. One of my favorites was during a 2004 drive through Tennessee on my way to Texas from Washington, D.C. I actually phoned in on #Watergate crook #GordonLiddy's radio show, and we yelled at each other about #JohnKerry and the FCC and the Super Bowl #JanetJackson thing.

That’s the kind of debate I’m used to when dealing with cons, especially the last four years of confronting Trump supporters. Get angry and get kicked off their radio shows. My mom and other family members still support Trump, and we rarely talk. It helps being 1,300 miles away from them.

But I recently had a #Twitter debate with someone that kind of threw me. This person claimed to be a “decent” Trump supporter but seemed more like a #Trumpbot or #fakenews account. At one point, he or she or it claimed to have seen "a lot of looting and destruction in person."

That’s great if I’m wrong, but I saw a lot of looting and destruction in person and on the news. And I heard of several people getting injured, shot, and killed as well. I don’t personally know anyone who was looting. Not sure how to reassure you that I’m not a bot. Sorry.

When I asked for the photos and video of looting, it claimed not to take any. When I asked where and what buildings, got no response.

It also asked for examples of racism by Trump, and I posted an Atlantic story with many examples.

That story takes 15 minutes to really read. Fourteen minutes later, I got this response:

I am sorry you don’t know many decent Trump supporters. I have met quite a few, so I assure you, they are out there! Thank you for the story, I did read it. I’ve looked into the examples it’s given, done some research, and made up my own mind. It’s a worthwhile journey!

Read it, did some "research" and made up its own mind as a "worthwhile journey" in 14 minutes? I don't think so.

I think it's a fake account but posing as a "nice" person. Perhaps it could be paid by the campaign to do this, or is in Russia doing it. Is this the new #Trumpcampaign tactic to pose as "nice" people to lure votes? It kind of freaked me out. I prefer the one that insults you and screams at you.
